How fast does food spoil?!

Question: I often throw out cooked food after 2-4 days, even if it's still fine, because I get paranoid. My mom would keep it for a week in the fridge, and we never got sick, but how long does it take?
1. grains like rice, buckwheat, barley?
2. steamed/stir-fried veggies?
3. meat?
4. other?

thank you

Industry standard dictate that cooked food should be stored at between 35 and 40 Degrees F and can be held for 7 days. As long as each of the items that you listed are well packaged you are ok with the 7 days.

Onions are the first in anything to spoil. So anything with onions left under 140 degrees F or over 38 degrees F for more than 2 hours needs to be disposed of.

most things are fine for a week if they are refrigerated. If it is bad it will smell bad. odor is a by- product of de-composition.

Do you mean cooked, about 3 days somewhere in there
