Are there Hidden Dangers in Drinking Diet Soda?!

Question: I've heard it said on this site and on the news that you shouldn't drink any soda, regular or diet. But I don't know what is wrong with diet soda, especially caffeine free diet sodas. Is there anything that companies don't want you to know about drinking diet soda, or any problems it can cause?

Some studies found that the chemicals in diet soda, if consumed in high quantities, were linked to an increased risk of cancer. Other studies contradicted this so right now that's up in the air, scientifically speaking.

There are also studies that indicate that people who drink diet soda end up consuming more calories in their regular diet, since they subconsciously think that since they're saving calories on the pop, they can eat a few extra cookies.

There's no other drink in the world as healthier as Fresh water

Not sure if it is proven or not but whenever my hubby drinks alot of diet soda his joints hurt. Someone told me that this was from the Nutra-Sweet...

cutting your lip on the rim of the can.

seriously... I would be skeptical of any synthetic (artificial) foods.

The only thing that worries me about diet sodas is the fake sugar.
I'd look into that if I were you. Also, sodas/juices in American contain Corn syrup which is a cheap sweetener companies use. It's very unhealthy and people shouldn't be putting it into their bodies.

yes. i have read that these diet sodas contain "aspertame" which can cause fatigue; light- headedness and headaches..

I have to agree with bams

they say that drinking diet soda is actually worst than drinking regular cuz some studies show that it could lead to cancer
