I use my coffee maker. It's fast and easy and NO the tea doesn't taste like coffee! Everyone loves my tea! Try this:

Put 4 BIG size Tetley or Luzianne (sp?) tea bags in your coffee maker, fill up the coffee maker with water and let it "brew".

Put some cold water in your gallon pitcher with 2 cups of sugar and YES A PINCH OF BAKING SODA (just try it ok), stir until dissolved, fill up pitcher with ice and set in freezer.

When tea is finished brewing grab your pitcher from the freezer and pour your tea over. Add more ice or water if needed.

Pour in tall glass with a sprig of mint.

Enjoy.

my wife boils a pan of water then takes it off the heat and puts 10 Luzianne ice tea bags in and covers it with a lid. She lets it set for about 10 minutes. Then takes the bags out and dumps the water into a gallon pitcher with one cup of sugar. she stirs that then adds the cold water. It's never grainy, and the last cup never has grinds in it. Tastes good to me!

No idea about the baking soda??
