Serious question, about Parmesan Cheese,but gross! Is it just me?!
Answers: Any hot food with grated Parmesan on top, smells to me like a nice, big, steaming bowl of vomit! Some other cheeses have the same effect, but Parmesan takes the prize. The family thinks I'm crazy, so I'm asking, "Does anyone else have the same perception of some cheeses?" And no, I'm not pregnant! I'm a grouchy old man!!!

About eighteen months ago, I went into a real estate agent and was hit by the smell and I asked the receptionist who had thrown up. She replied it was one of the staff microwaving their spaghetti with parmesan cheese on it for lunch. I was actually surprised to learn this was the case because I had asked the question in all seriousness.
Despite my surprise, I wasn't even slightly embarassed because anyone who is thoughtless enough to inflict such a stench upon their workmates and clients deserves to have their food mistaken for real vomit!
yeah it can kinda smell like feet but it tastes sooo good.
haha. Yes, it does smell pretty bad and can remind me of the smell of vomit. I still eat it though. I don't like cheese as a general rule though, I only eat it with a salad sandwich or on pasta.

I'm just the same - this perception put me off eating parmesan cheese for years. Now, I eat it quite happily because I know that the taste is fine....but if I take a deep whiff of it, yup, that same old smell !
I think the same thing!! i cant stand it it smells very much like vomit to me too. i like most other cheeses though, it's just parmesan that has that effect.
parmesan cheese is great.. but i HATE Massarella cheese

The smell may be off-putting, but not the taste!
My son, who is 16, can tell a mile away when I've put parmesan on something; he's not a fan.
