What kind of ragu sauce do you use with your pasta?!


Question: I make my own, just buy a can or two of crushed tomatoes, make sure you have onion, garlic, oregano and basil (dried or fresh). Be sure to add any other optional ingredients you want (celery, carrot, red pepper, red wine etc) but to make a basic homemade sauce, all you need is the things I listed in the first place. Sautee the onion and garlic before you add the tomatoes and herbs, simmer a while until taste and consistency agree with what you are looking for, and serve with hot pasta. I'm sorry I don't provide exact amounts, but using this basic outline you can make a small amount or enough for a party of 100. Just keep tasting and sampling as you go along and you'll get just what you want. If its too thin, too watery, simmer longer. If its too thick, add more water or stock. Adjust to your tastes.

Ragu is a brand.Try Classico.Of course it's a matter of taste but it's the closest to my mom's sauce which she made when she was married to my dad whom happened to be Italian.

Bertolli vodka sauce when I'm feeling lazy. Crap, now I'm hungry.

The 4 cheese sauce...but I add other things too , to kick it up a notch.

I actually prefer to use Prego traditional and add veggies and meat to it.

Chunky Vegtable then I add a lot more garlic.

usualy I make my own, but I do like the mushroom and sausage kind.

I don't do "Ragu." I only do "Prego." It's the best ya know? : )

I love Sun-dried Tomato and Sweet Basil. Very good!
