You sir are a racist. But I would have chicken and macaroni

Let your wife cook dude. Never question your wife.

Um, yeah, probably have the wife cook whatever she was going to and they probably will have no problem with it at all. ?????

if they told you they like it and if you like it then make it

My dear friend, If he likes it cook it for him. GOD Bless you.

make some of both so every1 can be happy

What the....this is in every way racist. Well whatever..cook the ham and stuff...they might get offended...EVEN though they said they like chicken and stufff. CATCH MY DRIFT? lol but yeah.

I think you are racist otherwise why would you say your black friends are coming over. your wife is right... woman are always right...

I think it would look stupid if they came over and you had all the traditional "black" foods ready. What your wife is cooking is great!

Your wife's menu is fine. Leave it alone. You don't have to serve those items just because they talk about. Plus, they will cook it much better that she can, if that is something they specialize in.

okay, you have friends, they aren't black or white or yellow, they are friends.

easter dinner is easter dinner. let you wife cook what she wants. your friends might take offense if you completely change the menu.

you should cook as best as you can possible. the guest is the god for ours..

You are making a bigger problem out of it than it is. Everyone knows that most people have ham on Easter so if they had any religious objections or dietary objections to it, they would have spoken up. Your wife is correct and your biggest problem right now is that you do not realize you have very little tact.

Race doesn't make people automatically like one food or another. They are just regular people who share a bunch of the same genes that direct outward appearance. Their being black should have nothing to do with any decision you make, unless you want to go to a klan rally or something. And, in my opinion, ham is much more traditional for easter than chicken.

.. dont tell me- you've also taken the pains to buy a Mahalia Jackson CD too right? Dude, don't patronize people.

Either or would be nice. But your wife is doing the cooking and she gets the final say. Plus, your friends don't want to feel that you went above and beyond for them.

Go with what your wife wants to serve. You are being borderline stereotypical in your menu selection, even if they have mentioned these foods. They will probably ask how often you have collard greens for dinner, and what will you say? It will be obvious that you are pandering.

Even though they like those foods doesn't mean you should cook them on Easter. Stick to your wives idea, the traditional Easter dinner. Or maybe compromise alittle and just make one of those things..like the collard greens! Definatly not the macaroni! I like pizza alot but that doesn't mean I want it for Easter dinner. Your friends are probably expecting the traditional food! Listen to your wife, she sounds smart!!

I 'm black so we " blackies" love collard greens, fried chicken, macroni and cheese, and if u can add in some warm peach cobbler!! Trust me they will love it and mabye to drink some kool-aid or even better some iced- tea!! I' m making some easter dinner with my family so i'm making most of that to and my family loves it!! -Good luck!!

Not racist, but stereotypying...I didn't know only Black people liked macaroni and chicken

I really don't think that race matters in this situation.

Good food is good food!

lol maybe they would like something different? perhaps you should relax and let your other half handle it, it seems like you're a bit racially sensitive at the moment. Also avoid over reaching in your effort to accommodate, you could appear to be trying too hard and cause embarrassment. I would NOT go with the greens, macaroni, chicken and black eyed peas.. and would most definitely NOT serve chitlins lol!

I think you should make fish (fried snapper) it is a traditon and
many folks of colour have fish and sweet bun
this time of year. Also rice and beans with sides.
Hope that helps.

I think what your wife is cooking is great. And so will your Black friends. But you know what...I love Collards, chicken, macaroni and a lot of the "ethnic" foods. Your wife could choose to add a couple of these items to serve. But either way, I think just getting together with good friends is enough no matter what you serve. Enjoy the company and the food regardless of what is served.

Don't worry too much about it. Make what your going to make, get to know them, make food a topic to talk about and next time make what they like or have potluck style dinner. They could bring what they like traditionally and you make yours. Bon Apetite!

let your wife cook what she wants to cook. if you are going to cook...then make your friends whatever you want to. maybe make one of their favorites.

Either mac n cheese or scalloped potatos would go great with ham. I'd stick with more traditional veggies like green beans or asparagus and a green salad. let your wife cook in her comfort zone. holidays are a hassle for the cook.

I'm sure Fuzzy Zeller can relate to your dilemma. While you're at it, don't forget to pick up some malt liquor, a Superfly video and some gangsta rap. Sounds a little over the top? So does your question. If you try too hard, you will come off as a racist to your "black" friends, so just be yourself and don't do anything differently than you would normally do on Easter.

Side note: If you are still worried about accommodating your "black" friends, as a family tradition, African Americans often will bring there favorite dishes to gatherings to share with family and friends. You may want to suggest this.

You are a racist .

Do you think that the only food black people eat is fried chicken and macaroni ?

You are ill.

I wouldn't serve any of the two dinners... I would just put out a neutral Spring time food like Watermelon
