Answers: I bought a 4lb ham for Easter, and when I was going to cook it on the 20th of March, the label said Best before March 04/08

If you bought it after the use by date and have the receipt take it back to where you got it for a refund/replacement.
Otherwise, just bin it and remember to be more careful next time.
If it is already cooked and smoked and all you have to do is heat it up, it will probably be OK but I would chuck it just in case.
you're probably safer not to use it. but ham stays a long time in the fridge after it's been cooked. like weeks.
Check dates on everything before u buy it.. Never use if after date on meat.

In most cases that date is used to remove it from the shelf SO they can sell it to the pet foods..???
