Question: On the inside of this chocolate easter bunny I got for easter there are big blotches of white on the inside. I know it is not white chocolate. It is risen above the chocolate of the easter bunny. The white also has a bumpy feeling compared to the chocolate. What is it? Should I eat it?

I love unidentified white blotches on my chocolate bunnies!

Bunnies gone bad. Dont eat it.

When in doubt... throw it out! That's my motto. ?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...sounds yummy...mmmmmmmmmmmm..chocolate bunnies...mm

That doesn't sound right...I wouldn't eat it.

sounds like its bad to me, chocolate turns white when it goes bad but that usually takes a long time but you could probably eat it, its not like raw chicken or anything

Eww! Throw it away! Better safe then sorry!

ARRrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..CHOCOLATE..........

Immitating Homer Simpson.

I might be mold. Be careful.

do NOT eat that!

i wouldnt eat it..just to be safe (:

eew no

eww
yea sure.
enjoy your saturated fat bunny.

Its old. Left over from last year.

This is normal for chocolate. Chocolate is made of cocoa and also consolidated milk fats. Over time these fats sweat back out. Most old chocolate ends up with a film like that. Chocolate can last up to 20 years, and by then its usually turned completely white.

It is probabley mold- do not eat it!!!

i had this on my chocolate too i ate it any way and i'm fine. i think it was just the way the chocolate was made, maybe it wasn't set probly or something

its old chocolate...like really old like yeah you can eat it cuz it wont do anything bad to you but its gonna taste a little gross like chalky sorta

It's probably a filling
Hazelnut and white chocolate or something

It sounds like it was in the heat for a while, and then cooled.....I would throw it out.

It's just cocoa butter, it's completely harmless.enjoy your Easter bunny!

if it's noticeable, chances are its meant to be... so i say eat it!!

try it, maybe its some form of sugar.....?

yuck throw it out... eat some celery

Ewww!!! Nasty bunny!!!

Probably you have gotten a very old chocolate.. the stores sometimes restock from the past year's supply that didn't sell. This also happens a lot at Valentine's. Don't think it will hurt you but it sure won't be very tasty.

it's just wax. eat it

It is called BLOOM and chocolate develops it when it gets put into refrigeration. It is ok to eat it. It's a cosmetic defect only.

Mold, don't eat it

It's no good anymore. Usually it means it's either old or it melted and then solidified again.

Its "bloom" which is basically where the fat or the sugar is starting to separate in the chocolate! Sugar bloom is formed by the action of moisture on the sugar ingredients. For example, if there is moisture in the air, this moisture may condense and drip onto the surface of the chocolate. This will dissolve some of the sugar in the chocolate and when the chocolate is re-warmed, the water evaporates again leaving a white powdery surface.

Fat bloom arises from changes in the fat structure in the chocolate. There are various factors that can cause fat bloom in chocolate, including poor tempering of the chocolate, incorrect cooling methods, the presence of soft fats in the centers of chocolates, warm storage conditions, and the addition of fats that are incompatible with cocoa butter.

Although bloom creates an unpleasant appearance when seen on chocolate, it does not affect the eating quality of chocolate, unless it has been very poorly stored. In this case, the chocolate may have a stale taste, and if it has been subjected to excessive dampness, surface mold may develop.
