Inhale McDonald's No.1?!
And a friend and I went down to mickyD's for lunch; I hadn't noticed before, but my friend ate his order # 1/Big Mac in three or four bites and in between scarfed up his fries - I hadn't even finished half my burger in 4 or five bites and didn't even touch my fries? We are about the same build (5.6 @ 160/165)…
Same example, I went to King's Fish about two weeks ago and had a Seared Ahi plate with spinach, I swear it must have taken me an hour to finish my plate, I suppose my buddy could have gobbled it up a $30 dollar plate in 60 seconds? I saw at least three couples that sat after us and left before (what the)???
It seems to me that eating or food in general is one of the few or softest of all sins (and gluttony is a sin); however why do "PEOPLE" seem to have the urge or need to eat so darn fast?

Perhaps that is just him. And so what. Seriously so he eats fast and you eat slow, that is a weird thing to get worked up over or to think somehow you're better.
Why can't people just be who they are?
Have you ever asked this "friend'? Maybe he had a big family and he had to eat fast so now one grabbed his food or because he wanted to get seconds. Maybe he doesn't' even realize he does it.
And maybe.................he's looking at you thinking how damn slow you eat. ;)
Oh and has he ever been in the military??? You try eating in 2 minutes during boot camp.
The urge to gobble food can be seen in the animal kingdom. Animals feeding are often gorgers who don't know when they'll get their next meal and fear that their kill/find will be taken be a rival and consumed.
Human beings sometimes gorge because they aren't thinking about eating slowly to savor the meal. Unfortunately, "gobblers" tend to eat that wat all the time and must consciously reconsider their eating habits in order to relax and eat slowly.
Good luck pointing this out.
sometimes it's just a habit, maybe not by choice.
i used to go to a boarding school and if u didn't eat fast enough, they run out of food so u can't get seconds. also another factor is the table had to wait til the last person to finish in order to be cleared, if u were too slow u'd get too many evil looks from other kids. not fun. so u just scoffed everything down.
also it's a personal choice isn't it? maybe they think u're eating too slow? i thought gluttony was about over-indulging in food quantities? those ppl u were talking about may just be eating fast, not necessary more.
some people don't chew, they just inhale. you on the other hand are savouring your food. that is the correct way to do it. You gain less weight when you take your time. Some people eat fast to beat other people to the left overs. sad but true
My boyfriend was in the army and they literally give you 3 minutes to eat your food. Now when he is home he eats a whole container of cottage cheese in about 3 spoonfuls.
Some people it's just a habit/nature. Some people grew up in families where it's first come first serve, or where siblings may steal their food. Also look at the state of people now, we are always in a rush in everything we do. Eating, sleeping, enjoying life is now at a faster pace then ever.
