Do care if you are consuming meat and dairy from cloned animals?!

Yes I care and I do not want to consume meat or dairy from cloned animals! They may say it's safe, but they've said a lot of things are safe and it turned out not to be so.

I'm uncertain, but find it disturbing. Can you organically clone something? If you can't, I'd say we're probably pretty safe by going that route, and the FDA is trying to save money??? You wouldn't think so. Is it cheaper to build an animal than to have it born by natural means. *sigh* America in the 21st century.

Organic doesn't always mean Genetically Modified free. So the only way to be sure would be to go vegan.

organic materials have a pretty lax standard of what is considered "organic," and is not always the best choice saving you butcher your own corn fed beast everytime you want a sandwich. i personally feel like I would want to know if my meat was a clone, but I think they made this rule because so many animals are created for butchering and people may be turned off by the idea of a "cloned" meat section. if you really fear this as a danger to your health, support your local butcher shop, he can tell you exactly where every animal comes from. that is usually your best, honest alternative.

I don't care. If it's a clone, then it's just like the original. If I would be willing to eat the original, why wouldn't I be willing to eat the clone?

Hell yea, The whole subject is really weird to me. I went organic 3 years ago.

I'm not worried. Cloning isn't cheap, so it's not like our entire butcher's section is going to be awash with petri dish raised steaks overnight, or even in the next 50 years. The FDA is just setting standards.

Besides, what's so bad about genetically modified foods? We've been doing the same things since the animals were first domesticated. The selective breeding that gives us different breeds of animals (like those black and white cows, and long horn cows) is genetic modification through selective breeding. Now it is just happening in a lab instead of some old farmer's field.

I would hate to eat cloned animals. It SHOULD be labelled!

Yes I do care. It is hard to persist in demanding the truth in where our food comes from and how it is processed. There is nothing that the consumer can do. Laws will only increase the methods of deceit. Even if you fish the river the fish that you consume is laden with mercury and other pollutants. That cow that is slaughtered laid in her own dung before it made it to your table. That deer that is in the woods drank from the pool of waist from the factory. You have got to realize that things are not what you would like them to be.

The cloning business is objectionable (subjectively speaking) and unnatural (objectively speaking). As always, It's all about corporations increasing market share, in this case, in the ever growing meat industry (no thanks to fast food chains such as KFC and McDonalds), which is even more controversial ( eating meat) because of the inhumane and environmentally unfriendly so-called "factory farms". I still eat meat but much less of it than I used to. mostly, I eat a lot of fish (no top tier predator fish such as blue fin tuna, though) and other non-meat foods that have sufficient amounts of protein.
