Have any of you tried to blag free food from the manufacturers?!
Answers: have any of you tried to blag free food or confectionarys from the manufacturers and were you successful? years ago my mate got a topps chewing gum bar which was mouldy the shop he got it from sent it back with his address he got a box full of chewing gum and sweets in return. when golden wonder crisps went bust i was delighted to hear tayto bought the company so i emailed them telling them how much i loved golden wonder ready salted crisps hoping for some freebies(i really do love golden wonder ready salted) they sent me back an email more or less telling me to buy the goods and stop being a cheap bastard. another company i emailed was big als burgers who are by far the best makers of frozen burgers 100 percent beef, blood even comes out of them when cooked. i told them how great they were, they sent me back an email telling me they appreciate my support and gave me some cooking sugestions. tight gits! so come on share your shame, what have you tried to blag for free?
When I was a kid we opened a bag of salt and vinegar crisps and to our horror (!!) found there were some cheese and onion stowaways in the packet. So we wrote a letter - in poem form, how very odd! - to KP and got some freebies back. I reckon it was my rhyming couplets that clinched the deal!
Oh Yea, but it was when we were kids; The Wonder bread factory would give tours & each one would get a tiny loaf of hot Wonder bread. It was so-0-0 delicious. Sometimes, the ice cream factories would give out free samples, but I don't think anyone does that, anymore. I wish they did. It'd be like going to walmart & sampling ALL the food samples, during the holidays. LOL
I never blagged, but lets just say a cereal manufacturer's name is replaced by "My Hen". Well I was suprised by a bit of (wait for it, wait for it) rat's back side, tail an all! (chopped and dried). My mother was amused and I freaked and that was that. I just kept saying to myself that it was just a little bit of cardboard and my mental state restored back to "normal".
