Drinking on an empty stomach???!

Question: The last time I drank alcohol, I had 3 drinks on an empty stomach... then I ate a fair sized meal... then my friends and I sat around and talked for about 30 minutes, then I had explosive diarrhea for about 45 minutes... then I waited around for a bit after I was sure I was done, drank a lot of water, munched on some chips, and then drank a few more (2)without bathroom problems... I know this sounds totally retarded but I'm not used to drinking, like, I don't drink very much at all. It was a friend's birthday party so I figured why the hell not? So anyway, is what happend normal? Will drinking after eating instead of before cause me to have the same effects? I'm scared to drink again and I'm supose to be going to a bar for another friend's b-day in a few weeks... please no smart assed remarks! Thanks!

Have a good meal before drinking. It would be helpful if the meal contains roughage and cheese. The meal should be heavy enough to line your stomach, but not too heavy that it would bloat you.

I liked you pun about no "smart assed" remarks ;)

Just have a full meal before drinking, and drink lots of water too because diarrhea occurs from lack of water.

Always eat a meal before drinking. Take what happened to you as a warning that maybe you shouldn't drink or to at least drink in moderation.

To confirm Trevor's answer....you were dehydrated....drink water before and after....ALOT of it.

Drinking on an empty stomach will for sure get you drunk faster and sicker than anything.
You best bet is to eat lots of carb. such as bread, before going out.
While out and drinking, choose drinks that have juices not soda...That will prevent from having a terrible hangover the next day.

Maybe you had the squirts cuz of what you ate after drinking!

Try to eat a little before drinking that might help!

Do not drink on an empty stomach........ always eat a full meal b4
