Are starfruits okay to eat like once every now and then if you get kidney infections like 3x a year?!
Answers: My mom gets kidney infections I think when she drinks too much coke. And she gets at the most kidney infections 3x a year. I heard star fruits are very bad for your kidneys. Since my mom's kidneys re sensitive and I am her daughter, would eating them every few months are so hurt us??
Eating starfruit is not particularly bad for your kidneys. I did not find starfruit mentioned in any articles about kidneys, diet, etc. AND, several articles said that it is only in the later stages of kidney disease or failure that people need to carefully limit their potassium intake; like when it is serious enough for dialysis.
However, frequent kidney infections can permanently damage your kidneys. A urinary tract infection (of which kidney infection is the most serious, bladder infection more common) that occurs more than twice in 6 months or lasts longer than 2 weeks is considered chronic. IMO, your mom really needs learn more about how to treat them and prevent them. I hope you (or she) will check out the links I listed.
It is possible, though less likely, that there is something wrong, like: scar tissue partially blocking the urinary tract or diabetes. It's always good to check with your doctor.
But most likely, there are simple things that might help, like: drinking more water (less soda and milk products), more physical movement, eating more of certain foods (like garlic), reducing salt, treating yeast or other infections right away. . .
So, IMO don't worry about the star fruit, but maybe share some of the other info with mom (maybe next time she gets a kidney infection).
Star Fruit is fine for kidneys,
Being a hybrid between an apple and a pear, it is fine
