White meat is the leaner meat, it is of course whiter in appearance and typically a little drier then the dark meat, white is found on the breast and the wings. Dark meat is fattier in content, has a darker appearance and is juicer then the white, found on the thigh and drumstick. Personally I prefer white on a baked chicken and dark on a fried chicken - I have no idea why!

One is dark and one is light. Lol, i think the whiter meat is leaner. but that's just a guess. i have no idea.

The darker meat has a higher fat content.

The dark meat has more myoglobin to transport oxygen for harder working muscles.
