My mum works too much to fine tune her cooking we grew up with mashed potatoes made with no butter,salt,cream or milk just dry old boiled mashed spuds.
The meat had to be overcooked until it resembled jerky.
& frozen boiled peas. yuck!
She can order a mean take away however.
