Seasonal Vedge and fruit from as local as possible,
freerange farm eggs and meat, cheese from some where like Hawes will last for ages and you can get a big cylinders.
Grow some peas and beans yourself, the kids can help.
Make bread and make your own soup.
Help an old dude on his allotment for a cabage or some onions.
Get a good book about wild seasonal foods, you can turn a trip to the woods or beach into a food search.
Shippping athorities can tell you which beaches have safe food, seaweed & sheel fish.

cabbage and carrot soup with curry powder -trust me
mediterranean vegetable roast with rice or cous cous.
sausages and peppers with tomato and honey sauce.
sausage sarnies
bacon, sausage and sweetcorn square tin fresh pizza.
semolina is a good dessert and breakfast and a box can last forever because a 60ml dry serving would easily serve 3 kids once cooked.
if youv bought a huge bag of potatoes so theyl last, theres always the option for wedges, chips, and jacket potatoes.
if push comes to shove, see if they like butter and sugar sandwiches.

Grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, Goulash (ground beef, canned tomatoes and macaroni) with canned fruit salad and rolls, Sloppy joes and french fries, Chicken and noodles with tossed salad, green beans and homemade bread, Oven fried chicken legs with mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli and jello, Chili and crackers, Potato soup and fried bologna sandwiches.

spag bol - all of these things need minimal ingredients and are very filling. I make these sort of things all the time - me and my partner are on a very tight budget and we only spend £80 every 3 weeks on food. I also freeze the left overs for the really skint days!

dinnner sweet and sour pork or chicken
supper noodles
day 2 cereal crumpets dinner lasange mashed potatoes carrots supper banana sandwichs
day 3 cereal toast spagetti bolegnese pancakes
day 4 cereal toast lamp chops veg tomatoes sandwiches
day 5 cereal toast pork chops fry up
day 6 cereal toast rissito omlette
day 7 cereal pancake fish dish chips soup&bread

mince mince mince!...so cheap and you can make loadsa stuff,bolognaise,meatballs,burgers...pas... with tinned ratatouille or cheap sauce..,sausages..you can make toad in the hole,sausage casserole,sausage and mash,tinned chick peas and a jar of curry sauce make a fab curry,chicken thighs are the tastiest part of the chicken,potatoes and veg are a must for goodness and carrots and frozen peas are really cheap,baked potatoes with beans or tuna sweetcorn ,omelette and chips..lovely
