You can buy plain yoghurt and add fresh fruit to that. Cheaper too. Fresh juice is ok as long as its juice and doesn't say 'juice drink' on the container. You can't avoid natural sugars inherent in fruit and these are ok as long as you make sure he brushes his teeth well enough. I basically don't give mine anything with added sugar or sweetners. I do allow them treats but I always make sure they brush their teeth afterwards. Be careful of cereals as even the plain ones have sugar added to them. I make my own pasta sauce so I know it doesn't have sugar in it. Very easy with passata, whatever vegetables you want to roast and add (courgettes, onion, carrot, fennel, peppers) and basil. I blend it with one of those hand held devices. Good way of disguising veg they wouldn't normally eat. Kids love it and again cheaper than shop bought version as you get a bigger batch for a few basic ingredients.

.
just buy things with less sugar in.
read the labels

Let him drink pure water instead of drinks. Eat fruits instead of fruit juice. Homemake juice is very easy, just buy a blender or a juicer.

Buy plain yoghurt without added sugar and add fruit yourself. I keep frozen berries and fruits just for this purpose.
You can use 100% fruit juice rather than the fruit drinks that have alot of sugar added. Flavored waters are a substitute for fruit drinks also.
Pasta sauces that are homemade will control how much sugar is added also. A quick tomato based sauce that cuts back on sugar is Use 32 oz of spaghetti sauce and add 16 oz of canned tomatoes that are crushed. Simmer and serve over pasta.
All these suggestions are fairly easy to do.

hmm yeh I no what you mean you should go 2 a oragnic shop or go 2 the oragnic bits in asda tesco etc

Anything homemade is always best....that way you can monitor everything you put into it. But, that is not always possible, with busy schedules. Do whatever you can from scratch and freeze (ie sauces).

Stoneyfield farms puts out an all natural yogurt that you can easily mix with fresh fruits that you steam and mash. Freeze individual servings in ice cube trays and store in gallon bags in the freezer. They take no time to defrost and add to yogurt.
A lot of granola bars are in stores now that have reduced sugar, as well as, cereals.

Limit drinks to water or 1% or skim milk. Make juices a "special" treat....say on weekends. OR invest in a juicer.

Make sure to read all labels on sauces and premade foods you buy....eventually you will find brands that will work. Takes some homework.

Buy things with less sugar,
Or say when your buying juice, buy
100% pure juice.
Or, instead of using sugar while cooking, try splenda.
and make sure he is limited on sweets.

There are many ways to decrease the amount of sugar in your childs diet.

1. As far as drinks go, push water!!!
2. Go home-made. By making your own food/snacks, you decide how much sugar to add. and it is not as hard as you think.
3. Read labels for store bought food.
