Should I seal my fruit or not?!
Answers: Should I seal my apples and bananas in a plastic sealed container or bag? Or should I leave it out so they can get some oxygen? Also, should I put it in the refrigerator? What is the best possible way to keep the fruits crisp
Apples should be put in a bowl in the refrigerator. Never put bananas in a sealed bag or in the refrigerator. They will turn brown and spoil. Keep them out at room temp in an open bowl instead.
you should seal your fruit.
I would say leave them out
Leave them out
leave them out
If you seal them they will rot faster. Fruits give off a chemical that ripens them, seal it, you will overripe and spoil them.
Please let them breath if you want them to live.
It is OK to experiment, and do not be affraid as you will not be charged for killing!
They have shin just like we do and will rot a lot faster if you seal the skin.
Apples last longer in the refrigerator though.
Something in the chilly refrigerated air tends to turn banana skins black sooner.
is you want them to ripen faster, put them in a bag. if you want them to 'preserve' and last longer, separate them. fruits let off a gas and when the gas is lingering around, it makes the fruits ripen faster
if you dont believe me, get like 6 bananas and but them in a little bag, then get another 6 bananas and spread them around your house. The ones in the bag will ripen a lot faster.
Bannas will do best on a banna hook on the counter. Apples can be kept in the frig, but not near other fruits. They will cause other fruit to ripen and rot sooner.
put them in one of the crisper drawers they dont have to be in a bag just make sure they stay clean
I personally don't seal apples but I do refrigerate them. There are these really cool bags on the market though that keep your bananas and other fruits and vegetables fresh called "Green Bags". Bed Bath and Beyond sells them if you want to give them a try. They keep fruits and vegetables fresh for longer than they normally would because they absorb the gas that fruits and vegetables emit when they are decomposing (they decompose daily even though you don't see it until they become gross looking or smelly). I hope this helps! :)
leave them out in a cool enviroment, they tend to go bad in plastic.
Keep them out in the oxygen, thats how fruit stays like fruit
