Why are bananas relativley high in calories - fruit wise?!

Question: i was thinking of having a banana for dessert... then it said on the packet 95 calories so i thought hmm, why is this? i had a 25 calorie ice lolly instead but how does that make sense? fruit being more calories than an ice lolly? i know it's high in sugar and everything but isn't natural sugar meant to be good for you?

Hm,must have been a small banana because most are 200 calories at the average ,and not to mention that many calories really isn't that bad considering a low percentage is fat calories. Also there is no saturated fat. Just a lot of natural carbs, sugars, potassium, and fiber,..they are really very good for you! Iceies contain empty calories, just from sugar, and no nutritional value.

But it would be good calories. And it depends how ripe the banana is. If you get a just-turned yellow banana, then it will have mostly carbs in it, but if it's ripe, that's when they start to get that sweet smell, they will be mostly sugar.
