Carb Craving in the morning?!


Question: Every single morning I have a crazy carb. craving... usually bread, muffins or donuts. I wake up and I'm sooo hungry.... I think I eat the most at breakfast more than any other meal. Does anyone else have this?

It could be your body needing some energy.. carbs give you some energy. I would go for it but dont over do it try some whole grain muffins just dont eat too much just enough until you know when to stop. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day

It's best to start your morning off with protein. It helps to curb your cravings for carbs for the rest of the day. Carbs tend to make you want more carbs -- so if you are trying to reduce your carb intake, focus on protein first thing in the morning. Especially avoid simple carbs -- donuts are evil! Whole wheat muffins/bagles/etc... would be a better choice, if you can't handle the protein.

Personally, I'm not hungry when I first get up, so I have a protein drink with a banana to start my day off right. If I skip breakfast or have high carbs, I'm starving at lunch time!
