I made some spaghetti yesterday and it sat out overnight in the pot. does spaghetti go bad after setting out?!

Question: cooked.

Answers: cooked.

yes - dont eat it.

Bacteria need a few things to start growing and to survive - water and moderate temperature are two of them. Dried pasta is fine because of the lack of moisture, but as soon as it's cooked it needs to go in the fridge once it's cooled down. If you worked in a restaurant in the UK, food regulation says it would have to be thrown out after 4 hours if not refrigerated.

no it wouldnt go bad

yes...it is definitely not good to eat unless you want to get sick. By leaving it out bacteria formed on it which can cause you to become violently ill. I wouldn't chance it...spaghetti is pretty inexpensive...make a fresh batch.

If it contains meat, definately. If it's only pasta, no milk or meat, check the fightbac.org web page.

Hasn't it turned to slime?

I did the same thing so I re-heated it and even tastes better and didn't get sick.I guess it's o.k. as long as it's in a .reasonable amount of time

Some times it will not go bad if left, only over night but most of the answers on here are correct. If you don't want to take the chance of getting sick you should not eat it.

I ma sure that it is still good. I have done that before and it was fine the next day.

I would think it might be okay if the room wasnt too warm. I wouldnt eat it, because I'm funny that way, but i"ve seen my husband eat things worse than that and he didnt get sick.
