Do you buy your meat at Wal-Mart of Super Target?!
Answers: Does anyone buy their meat at either of these stores. I looked at the meat at both and at both places on the label it says packed with a 12 percent patented solution, but doesn't say what's in the solution. I've heard they do this to give the meat a 30 day shelf life. Before I even consider buying meat at either of these places, I'd like to know what others opinions of them are. Thanks for your answers.
Never , because you can't be for sure how long it has been in that store. It might say it's fresh but who knows. And there are ways to keep meat looking fresh. Like the meat could be kept in a cool department for a long time before it starts to age. Meat starts to age from the bottom first. Watch it!! Because the blood settles to the bottom.
I don't buy meat at either of them. I go to a local grocery store that has a meat department. I just don't trust the meat at Super Target & Wal-Mart because who knows when it was packaged and how long it sat somewhere being transported.
The same could be said for a local store, but at least you have someone else packaging that will make the determination if it is not fit for sale.
I buy my meat rarely from wal-mart but I usually go to my local grocery store.
no
I've tried Walmarts meat and have not liked it. Do you have an Andersons where you live? They have an awesome meat shop.
I refuse to buy meat at Walmart (for the reason you specified). Also, tests done on the meat showed they used carbon monoxide to maintain the bright red color. Also, they have been lobbying against using COOL (country of origin) labels, so basically, nobody knows where the meat comes from. There is even a report that buckshot has been found in Walmart meat.

I buy all my meat from Walmart as do many of my friends. We have no super Target here.We have always gotten good meat from Walmart.I don't know anything about the additive but since you brought it to my attn. I will ask the butcher there. You might like to ask yours at your Walmart.
I do not buy my meat at Wal-Mart or Super Target because I have seen meat sitting in the toy dept and every where else. For how long I don't know. But I have seen workers pick the meat up and put it back into the meat dept. The meat should have been temped and if it was still in the safe zone then it could have been put back on the shelf. But if it was in the danger zone it should have been thrown away. If it had been tampered with it should have been thrown away either way. Meats are not the only thing I have seen done this way.
nope, i get my meat from publix or winn- dixie
Walmart they always have he freshest of everything and at lower prices!!
