Is a Avocado a fruit or a vegtable?!

Question: Avocado is a fruit, not a vegetable.
Avocado is a single-seeded berry because it fits all the botanical criteria for that class of fruit.
It is also a fruit because a fruit is the matured ovary of a flower. Basically, it consists of the ovary wall, or pericarp, which encloses one or more seeds.
All fruits may be classified into two broad categories: dry, and fleshy - avocados are fleshy.
This fruit have over 400 varieties (such as Zutano & Reed) & contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, iron, phosphorous and magnesium & is high in fiber! (Wow!)
Avocado is also high in vitamin E which slows down aging!
We call it zabocca here in Trinidad :-)

Avocado is a fruit.

Its a fruit. Vegetables dont have stones!

well i have always been of the opinion that its a fruit

fruit. i love the large ones from Florida...the best !!! i like mine with sea salt and fresh ground black pepper.

Fruit.

it has a pit in it (or a stone)--it is a fruit

Hmmm, answering this very same question got me a violation notice, but it's a fruit according to the avocado.org web site. Before California started marketing the name "avocado", the fruit was called an Alligator Pear (because of the rough skin).

I would say it is a fruit. It grows in a long tree. As you may see. Stuff that grows on mostly high trees are fruit. We have the idea some times that they may be vegetable because of the no-sweet flavor they have. But they are fruits.

It is classified as a fruit... BUT... it is horribly disgusting and tastes like licking pine flavored playdoh!!!!
