I bought a frozen stir vfry today, and ate it then noticed it's 11 months out of date... What can I do?!

Question: I went to my local convenience store today (UK) and bought two pakcs of frozen prawn stir fry, cooked them and my partner and i ate them, he complained that it tasted nasty. As I was clearing up, I noticed the date on the packet and it is 11 months past it's date!

Neither of us feel ill yet, but I want to make the biggest type of complaint possible. How do i do this? Can I get compensation for it?

The shop is a franchise of a medium sized chain. What are the proper steps to take?

Honestly---if it was frozen it's more than likely OK. There is a "pull date" clearly printed on it....and you are just as much at fault as the store for not checking it yourself. Their defense would be that your obligation is to read the pull date. If you were going to get sick from it, it would have been immediate. The most you're going to get from the whole ordeal is probably a replacement or a refund in the amount of purchase.

honestly go get a lawyer hopefully you have a copy of the receipt they'll take it from there I'm in the U.S but if that happened that place would be sued for a **** load of money i would also go get checked out by a doctor cuz you might now feel sick yet but u might soon...... best of luck to ya
