Hot dog to hot dog bun ratio?!
Answers: Why is it that there are more hot dogs than buns besides rippin ppl off?
Because 8 buns work perfect for 10 hotdogs. The cook, who has had one beer too many will drop two or the dog will grab them, leaving 8 hotdogs for 8 buns.
See? Smart!!!
By the way, some new companies are putting 6 "specialty" rolls in a package....here we go again, "Hot Dog Algebra".
Okay, do I have to be uncool?
Hotdogs are required to weigh by law. So is bread. In fact, many rolls sold by the dozen were a little light, so the baker threw in a 13th roll to make a "bakers dozen", just so you weren't cheated out of a pound.
So many hotdogs make a pound, 4, 6, 8 ,10.
But, bread still has to make a minimum weight requirement by law. If that means 2 extra or 2 fewer buns, you get two extra buns. Sorry. As bad as I hate to admit it, it probably "rolls" back to (no pun intended) to that old law about bread weight. Just to make sure, you get extra bread in you bag to make sure you don't get cheated.
But, I liked my first answer better! LOL!
Because thats how they make money.
I never understood it. It's insane.
Try buying hot links instead. They are better quality and match up 8 to 8 typically.
Buns in Canada usually come in packs of 12 and hotdogs come in packs of 10. WHY ARE THERE ALWAYS MORE BUNS THAN HOTDOGS?!
Its okay, I can use them for sandwiches. But c'mon.
Well, you can actually buy some packages of eight hot dogs and eight buns ... I do it all the time! But, a bit more creative aswer would be that the hot dog company is being nice and giving you extras because they know one or two will ALWAYS fall into the pit of the grill ... what is an empty bun but depressing. They are saving us that sadness!
i think its because if u buy a certain packs of buns and a certain packs of hot dogs they would be equal, but in order for that u have to buy a couple of packs and the more packs u buy the more money they make
