Bottled Water--Is it really what we think?!
Answers: I am a big drinker of bottled water. Dasani, Deer Park, Crystal Springs, even Fiji Water or Voss have all been in my pantry. I mainly buy Crystal Springs or Deer Park to save on money. I've heard that those are 2 of the many bottled waters that we should be worried about. I heard on the radio that they are not spring water but in fact local lake water that has been "purified". That disgusts me not only because of what I am drinking but also because of the money I've thrown away. I also heard of chemicals and other harmful substances. Which brands are spring water and which ones are nasty bottled tap water??
By FDA regulations, the companies are required to state on the bottle where the water came from (spring, glacier, well, purified local water). Doing otherwise is misbranding.
For the record though:
Dasani uses municipal tap water.
Deer Park is spring.
Crystal Springs is spring (hence the name).
FIJI and Voss actually get it from confined aquifers.
Just wondering, though, why does it matter? Purified water is generally just as healthy (it misses some nutrients, but some companies artificially put them in anyway). Also, just using a water filter on your own tap is much cheaper.
all bottled waters are nasty and its not worth paying money for something you can get for free........
stop supporting the economy. lol.
most of your purified water as they call it is strained through a filter only.
buy a britta pitcher and use it, I do, and it tastes just as good if not better than bottled water.
I believe aquafina is tap water (municiple or public water source is listed on the label)
