Is there any difference between corned beef and pastrami?!

Question: arent they the same thing?

Answers: arent they the same thing?

They are very similar! They both start out pickled in brine. Corned beef is then boiled. Pastrami is smoked, and often encrusted with peppercorns.

Pastrami comes form a word refering to preservation. The "corn" in corned beef refers to coarse grains ("corns") of salt.

They're both brined meats, but they're at different stages. Corned beef is the brined meat. Smoking and seasoning corned beef would make it pastrami.

maybe the ingredients are, I don't know. They are both beef and are cured. But they taste completely different.

corn beef is just young cow feed only corn the pastrami is a lots of herbs and curing.
