Has the quality of girl scout cookies gone down?!

Question: I remember them being so tasty, and now not so much. I could be because I'm not five anymore though.

Has anyone else noticed a difference? Assuming I'm not the only one who buys seven dollar boxes of cheap cookies.

I think the quality went down a long time ago. Thin mints are still good though, but you can get the same quality at the store, Keebler, for a lot less.

No I haven't noticed a difference. However my boxes only cost 3.50

The Lemon Pastry Cremes are gone--therefore, I never buy.

I haven't noticed the quality going down but I notice the price went up!

lol yea they changed the manufacturers so the taste in diff. lol they do taste superrrr different.

How in the world could the quality have gone down? Are they now made in China, with toxic ingredients?

yes they have the samoas and the thin mints are the same and the lemon ones changed but for the better the other ones have changed this year and taste gross like the tagalongs and the all abouts

I agree with you! they don't even really sell the cookies I sold when I was a kid and they were REALLY good. the other thing around here I understand the Girl Scouts only make 35 cents a box for camp. That sucks!

The size of the boxes has decreased, and the price has increased. I haven't bought any in years, so I am not sure about the quality.

Yes and you make an astute observation. The main culrprit is high fructose corn syrup. Hydrogenated oils also create an inferior gustatory experience as does increased use of other unnatural or hyper-processed substances.

Nothing is ever as good and as cheap as it used to be. NOTHING.

Yes, they're putting in too much cardboard now. You didnt used to be able to taste it that much.

I never liked them anyway, too expensive and you cant walk into the grocery store or through the mall without girl scouts jumping in front of you and making you feel quilty if you dont buy their cookies.

Boy scout popcorn. Thats where its at.

I think so, too. I bought some thin mints about a month ago. They weren't awful, but they weren't as good as they used to be. GSA used another supplier this year, but you'd think they'd standardize the recipe so things like that wouldn't matter.

i havent noticed a difference, then again they dont sell for $7 a box around here

i think they still have a great quality,,but i dont think theyre that much where i live,,,six dollars is a lotttt for just one box!

Yes definitely. The quality went down and the price went up!
