I bought some black sticky rice home & found the inside is not black after broken into 2 halves. Is it fake?!

Question: I thought the inside should be black as the outside. I hope someone will advise me.

no worries. it's totally definitely absolutely normal. You know, each rice grain has a few layers - a husk, a black coat and the white core. after the husks being removed, the rice inside is blackish brown. Then people will choose to polish it further more to produce the white rice grains or just stop there to produce the black rice which you bought. The inner core would be white in all rice grains.

It's good that you buy the black one since the black layer contains a lot of vitamins, but many people don't like it because it's sticky and the texture is quite rough.

hope to hear a relieved "phew" from you :) haha..

That's black rice. Red rice is the same, as well as purple. Unfortunately it's the outside color that it's named for, its basically just white rice with a black husk.
