What else is there left to eat?!

Question: I can't eat spicy, greasy, fatty, chocolate or drink caffeine or soda due to having GERD. What else is there to eat? I feel hopeless, being stuck with just fruit and vegetables.

For the morning, you can have whole-grain cereal with skim milk and a banana. Or whole-grain toast with poached eggs and a grapefruit.

For lunch, consider a grilled chicken salad made with grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, olives, cucumber, etc with a low-fat dressing, and some whole-grain bread. Or you can have a grilled veggie sandwich with some baby mozzarella cheese (it has a high water content so it is low in fat, only 5 grams per 1 oz, and it is also very low in sodium) on a toasted whole-grain baguette. Or you could have low-fat, low-sodium soup with a green salad and some whole-grain bread.

For dinner, consider eating lean protein like beans, chicken breast, turkey breast, lean fish like cod or tilapia, or lean cuts of beef. Eat with brown rice (cooked in no fat), or a baked potato topped with low-fat sour cream or a tad bit of butter, and a side of steamed veggies.

For snacks, eat granola bars, fresh fruit or dried fruit, crackers with low-fat cheese, veggies dipped in hummus (really delicious, try it!), or just pita bread dipped in hummus.

Good luck.

meat

try making a chefs salad

lettuce(your pick what brand, then you can add whatever you want to it
if you can add dressing id say lite ranch, or italian, or rasperbby vinagrette is the healthiest i think. dont forget you dont need to drench your salad. a cup works fine. just poor on some dressin then toss it to get the dressing everywhere.

for a drink maybe some diet iced tea.(Nestle or Lipton_

to go along with it maybe some cucumbers with a little salt on em. THIS IS ALL EASY TO MAKE WITH A TRIP TO THE GROCERY STOR.

tofu ... chicken ... pork ... fish ..... what about pretzels? popcorn (without butter)? dried fruit ... dry-roasted nuts...

pasta, beans, potatos & tomatos. there have to be web sites out there that'll share recipes with you from folks who've been through the same frustrations. Just Goggle

I would get a light and low fat cookbook bc there are so many different recipes that are modified from fatty ones and taste good. I'm doing a new healthy lifestyle and these are foods you should be avoiding anyways. Try fruit smoothies, yogurt, different grains, oatmeal raisin cookies, and so many more good choices. The caffeine is tough though.
