Is it safe after you defrosted the turkey to put it back in the freezer.?!

Question: I'm not sure if the turkey might go bad or what else can happen.

Answers: I'm not sure if the turkey might go bad or what else can happen.

No it is not safe to do that. In the process of defrosting some kind of bacteria might have started on it. If you refreeze it the bacteria might spread and cause the turkey to go bad.
If you eat it you will come down with food poisoning. You will not be a happy camper after that!

NO.. You can only freeze it now after you cook it and take it off the bone..otherise you could get Salmonella Food Poisoning...

No, you have to cook it first if you want to refreeze it

No! You will poison yourself.

Why take a chance!? It takes a long time to thaw a turkey, it should be cooked immediately after thawing to kill any bacteria. To freeze and rethaw would add another long thawing period for bacteria to multiply. Do you really want to be remembered (perhaps posthumously) as the one who gave salmonella poisoning to your family and loved ones during a holiday feast? I have had salmonella, and it is as sick as I have ever been!
