When you are buying fresh fruits or vegtables that are not in season where are they coming from?!
Answers: Just because they are not "in season" here does not mean they are not in season somewhere else ,like Brazil,Peru,,Argentina,Italy,Spain and similar places that have different growing cycles that we here in the states do !
Like Mexico And Cuba
South America usually. Sometimes Florida or Mexico.
California, mexico, texas, Aruba, Hawaii, bassically anywhere tropicall or where its warm year around
Spain, Mexico, Florida, California and other countries that's why sometimes the prices go up*
They come from a climated place such as Mexico, Hawaii, or a place along those lines, but they do not come into your home fresh, that's for sure!
From other countries or they may still be grown but just in a controlled environment.
Brazil,Peru,,Argentina,Italy,Spain, Mexico,Cuba,Florida and other places like that!
Everyone left out the biggest exporter.
CHILE!
They usually come from South America, Mexico, Brazil or Chile. They are not in season here, but they are there.
They are supposed to be labeled as to source! Read the labels. If they aren't there, mention to store management that you cannot find the required label. Remember Florida & California have long growing seasons and much of our "out-of-season" (to the rest of the country) are in-season here. Hawaii is the source for macadamias, most of our pineapples, papayas, kona coffee.
Common sources:
bananas - Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Equador
Grapes - Chile
tomatoes, strawberries - Mexico
organic, specialty & on-the-vine tomatoes - Belgium, Israel
