Picky Eater?!
I just don't get it. There all these foods that people love, but I hate. Its not like Im trying to be picky. I do try other foods, but they just taste bad to me. How do I change that??? PLEASE HELP!!!
Answers: I am an 18 year old guy and I am an extremely picky eater. I am going off to college this fall and I want to like more foods. What should I do? I hate most sauces, I hate seafood, salad, pork, most vegetables... etc. I cannot even list all of the foods I hate. You can't even understand how bad it is. When I go out for dinner, I always get chicken fingers and french fries, or, very rarely, a PLAIN burger. I eat the same luch every day (for the last 5 years or so).

Ok, yea it might be a sign of immaturity that you should of dealt with when younger, but you still can do something about it. Ask yourself what is it that you like so much about chicken fingers and fries and try to incorporate that into other foods. What about other types of chicken? Chicken sandwiches minus the sauce? breaded chicken cutlets? If you like the breading on the chicken fingers, why not try that same breading on other meats? And if you like fries, then you like potatoes...so many recipes out there for potatoes. Every time you eat, you should put a different food on the same plate, even if you don't touch it now...you will eventually.
Yup, it's just an immaturity thing. I know a college gal who only eats pizza and drinks soda- she talks like she's 12 and still looks at the world through the eyes of a child. Perhaps you might want to get counseling for any emotional issues you have that "stuck" you in a perpetual childlike state.
It what ever you like, Theres No reason to Not order what you like. If you go out with someone they like YOU, Not what you eat.
I don't see anything wrong with what you eat. I have a 17 year old who is on a raw food kick. But it's always fun to try new things. Just a taste come on now close your eyes and hold your nose.
It's kind of like when you were a little kid I guess and you would only eat a certain food. Now you just don't feel like trying anything new. Its not like you're going to immediately start liking loads of foods with one piece of advice.
for chicken, try chicken with a different seasoning or something and a side dish besides fries...rice or something.
one day you may even get sick of chicken and wont be able to stand it anymore
just start slowly with similar fodds and eventually you'll find something else you like
if any of that made sense I'd be surprised
