What Culinary path should I take?!
FYI - I have no intentions on cooking art, F that. I cook food that people can eat
Answers: I can cook my a.s.s. off but I don't have any formal training and would love to do nothing but cook all day (in other words be a proffessional chef). Is it worth going to the inexpensive community college or should I shell out the extra cash for johnson wales?

Sure why not most chefs start at 15 bucks an hour so its so worth it,maybe you can work for me someday lol!
As you know from watching various TV shows, you can train to be a chef in a restaurant kitchen. For that you don't need to be a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. However, you might want to at least consider the community college option since it will give you an opportunity to learn about the business aspects of being a chef, along with food handling and safety procedures, etc. It most definitely can't hurt you.
Seriously, do the community college route. They'll still teach presentation, but more on the basics. Most of the cooks I know had a CC education and make a very good living. Getting a Master Chef designation is more about managing than the actual cooking. Chefs just tell people what to make and how they want it made, who are usually CC graduates.
