Anyway to counter red pepper flake heat in a dish?!

Question: I purchased a kit to make a chinese meal at home, and it is really good, the only thing is that it is a but too warm for me. (the sauce comes in a can inside the kit already made up)

I can see the red pepper flakes floating in the sauce, the same kind you find at pizza places that people like to put onto pizzas.

Is there anything I can add to this sauce to decrease the amount of heat these pepper flakes put into the sauce?

Any help is appreciated.

You could try adding a bit of cinnamon to the sauce. You could also try adding some pineapple juice -- I've done that to take down the heat in chili, and there wasn't any noticeable pineapple flavor once it cooked down. I've heard that lime juice does the same thing.

Yogurt and sour cream are both very good at counteracting spicy food, but I'm not sure they're appropriate for a Chinese dish.

Add some milk to the sauce. Eating rice with is will also decrease the "heat". Actually, any dairy or grain to the sauce will help.
Happy eating!
P.S. Great job on choosing Chinese food~!! Awsome~!!

Try adding some potato. That is used to counter act too much salt. Give it a try.
