And you call me unintelligent. You can barely even capitalize and put periods in random places. Plus, you ask me why I feel like asking dumb questions? Ha.

they are from the sprout family.

This is the only question you could think of asking????

Brussels sprouts are the same species as cabbage, broccoli, and cauliflower. They were original created in Ancient Rome in an area that is now Belgium. Hence the name Brussels sprouts.

And, you can eat the sprouts (sprouts are the baby plants that first come up out of the soil) of all these vegetables. They don't sell broccoli sprouts in the grocery store, but you can grow your own :)

If you've seen them growing then they appear to 'sprout' from the main stem of the plant. Or 'bud'! Horrible things anyway.

They may call them Spourts because of the way they grown. Brussel sprouts, sprout off of a long stem.
