Puss in milk?!


Question: someone told me today that there is some kind of puss in cows milk,is this true?
i normally drink rice milk but i have had cows milk in the past so i was wondering if this is true or not

pus is a conglomeration of white blood cells that you see battling an infection. unless the cow is fighting an infection in its udders, there will not be pus in the milk.

you really shouldn't believe everything you hear.

milk straight from the cow is full-fat. that's why it seems kind of thick. it's pasteurized to kill the germs, filtered, and skimmed. that's where they separate the heavy cream, whole milk, 2%, and skim. compare skim and heavy cream - the skim milk looks translucent because pretty much everything has been removed.

THEN processed and voila- perfect white milk

wow. didn't know that!

That's why it's homogenized, to get rid of the impurities. If you were to drink it directly from the cow who knows.

There is no puss in milk! Unless the cow's nipples are infected which is disgusting. The white stuff on top is CREAM. They usually homogenize the milk so that the cream is mixed in.
