Popcorn or popping corn is a type of corn which explodes from the kernel and puffs up when heated. Special varieties are grown to give improved popping yield. Some wild types will pop, but the cultivated strain is Zea mays averta, which is a special kind of flint corn. The process of making popcorn was first discovered by aboriginal Americans thousands of years ago.[1]

there is caramel popcorn...
the best !

i don't know who invented it but it comes in all flavors --chocolate- cheese--etc-- whatever you want to flavor it with

Who cares who "invented" it, just put your own twist, flair, style of taste to it!!! add some cheyenne pepper or some fresh garlic or great bar b-q smoke flavor. ITS ALL GOOD!!!

Popcorn wasn't really "invented" it was more like discovered. Popcorn is super-heated corn. It is all the sugars inside simultaneously exploding and turning the corn kernel inside out.
There are TONS of different flavors and a few are:

Carmel (a.k.a. kettle corn)
Cheese
original butter
chili (which sounds a little strange to me)
assorted chocolate flavors
jalepeno
ranch
buffalo and
Candied flavors including:
cherry
tangerine
cinnamon
apple
grape
and lemon

and several others which i do not wish to list. :D

A native American was playing around with dried corn by a fire when, some of the corn got close to the heat and began to pop. The flavors like above and are limitless.
