Is it ok to cook steak that was left out for a day and put back into the fridge ?!

Question: No, most foodbourne illnesses are psychotrophs, meaning they grow at low temps.

Meaning that even though you put it in the fridge
it didn't preserve it, due to the fact
its not the strain that gets you sick, its the toxin

And while it was sitting out, there was strains
growing on it, and then putting it in the fridge
did nothing because it was too late

So no, it is no safe because even if you cook it
you will kill the strains, but you will not
kill there toxins they leave behind and you
can suffer from Bacillus or Staph

just cook it well done if you are going to try it... but do you really want to go there??? ....one word....poop

Only if you want to risk getting food poisoning and going to hospital, so no I wouldn't if I were you...

yes as long as you make sure to cook it until it is no longer pink.

pathogens die after 165 degrees...but thats a really well done steak....usually you want to cook it to about 140. ...just go buy a new steak.

No, just the fact that you had to ask this question means it's not o.k. when in doubt throw it out. Doc

Absolutely not! No seasoning or any form of cooking will make it safe. You will be putting yourself and the people eating along with you in danger.
