Is there any point eating a vegetable if it has been cooked, fried, salted, spiced etc.???!
Answers: i mean does it still count as a portion of veg. if it has salt, spices etc. has been added to it and is it healthy???
there is vitamins in the vegetable, and any kind of nutrients will be damaged by over-heat. If you don't want to avoid any damage to them, I would recommend you to boiled it with water, and picked them up with a little bit soy sauces. It taste fresh and still have vitamins here.
I would think it would still count, BUT they say it's better to NOT get that nutrition your getting from the veggie if it comes with a bunch of grease and salt (i.e. french fries) because your doing your body more harm than good. Spices I don't think hurts anything. Also I know if you overboil veggies in a lot of water you lose a lot of the nutritents.
some vegetable are gross if you fry, salt and spice them like eggplant *eww*
When eating vegetables, it is best to steam it and eat it without adding any additives. If you want to get the full benefit of the vegetable it is best to eat it partially steamed.
ya, but hardly any. the grease overpowers the health.
its not as good for you, but there are still SOME nutrients.
If its fried with oil, contains butter, or salt then there's really no point in eating vegetables.
But if you steam them for a couple of minutes or not at all you can add spices w/ no salt....like Mrs. Dash wich contains no salt, but plenty of herbs and spices that make it taste good.
The best way is to grill veggies for less than a minute or al dente , and mix a little bit of olive oil and mix it with Mrs. Dash...it taste great and it's alot more healthier than frying.
If it's a fresh vegetable, yes. Stir fried is great, spices no prob, salt- just a littlle, and not over-cooked.
i would broil it , or steam it even better, but actually i eat raw carrots raw spinach alot of raw veggies that taste good, but if you cook it it's still good for you, cause I was eatin my veggies and started shittin green so i must o had too many vitamins in me ha ha...and I aint had no pistachio icecream neever. ha ha ha
yes there is a point, the veg still contains nutrients when they are cooked. Vitamins are either water soluble or fat soluble, that's where cooking can lead to a loos of nutrients. Salt and other spices don't take away that. btw, french fries aren't a veg they are starch.
Yes it's still good for you...but not as good for you as before you cooked it.
It depends on the degree of cooked. If you are cooking them until it is mush, like boiling in water, the nutrients are now in the water.
If you are going to saute/fry them in a little olive oil and keeping them el dente they are good.
It is OK to add a little salt and spices when cooking as long as you do not add more salt at the table.
