Why are you supposed to cut open a vacuum sealed bag before heating in microwave, can't you just heat sealed?!

Question: I have a seal-o-meal, and want to know if heating up bag in microwave without cutting open does anything to food quality. Most air is sucked out, so it can't blow up!! Why must it be opened, i would think juices and moisture would be preserved better heating in sealed bag.

Trust me, it WILL explode. You have to give the stuff room to expand.

You can cook the SEALED bags in a pot of low boiling water. Personally, I think the food comes out better that way. Just like the day it was sealed.

to release pressure inside the bag.leave it sealed if you enjoy explosions and cleaning.

It will explode. And I won't even go on to tell you how the microwave changes the food so much it isn't good for you. That's another story and a true one.
