Stick to fruits, veggies, meats (unprocessed), dairy products (easy on the cheese), whole grain bread and pasta in moderation, eggs and nuts and you have a pretty healthy diet. If you skip the frozen food section except for frozen veggies and try not to buy anything in cardboard boxes (processed, crackers, most cereals, cookies, chips, premade things), you'll have a pretty good idea of what is good and bad for you!
pretty much any thing that tastes really good is bad for you...
I could sure go for a chocolate malt , right now . I know ,it probably isn't good for me , but , is once in a while bad ?
the things you listed are not as bad as folks make them out to be. whole milk is great for babies because their bodies need that fat to develop normally. Anything in excess can be "bad"just as everything in moderation is okay. No-one is going to croak from a nice white bread bologna and cheese sandwich with pickles and potato chips and a nice cold Coke but you won't do well at all if that is all you ever eat.
vegtables and meat and fruits are healthy most dairy products are healthy but ice cream isn't!
High Sugar content is bad, as is a high GI score. Check the GI rating, low is best. Any "white" things should be replaced by brown or wholemeal if possible, bread, rice, pasta etc. Whole milk isnt so bad if part of a healthy diet and not in excess. Try raw sugar or honey, or even stevia instead of sugar. Try to avoid preservatives, usually means the food is pretty processed anyway. Everything from scratch is best, you know whats in it, and tastes better. Even diet fizzy drinks are loaded with sweeteners and e numbers, we dont really know the full effect of them yet. Lots of fruit and vegatables, lean meat, and wholegrains and you wont know yourself!
bad-anything processed,like biscuits.
fatty foods.
sugar=pure TOXIN.
good-grains,fruit ,veg
foods in their natural state.
nuts are very good for you,as they have essential fatty acids.
I know what to eat,but I dont eat the right things!
Foods are foods...a diet is healthy or unhealthy. Even whole milk has it's place, young children need whole milk. And salt is bad for people who have hypertension or from families where hypertension is common...but everyone needs salt. Broccoli is wonderful for you, but if you ate nothing else you would soon be in bg trouble dietwise.
Your diet should be based on a variety of whole grains, legumes, beans, fruits, and colorful vegetables, with a bit of fish, meat, and dairy added for fun, flavor, protein and vitamin b12. Most of it should be fresh and unprocessed.
Go forth and eat well.
anything that is heavily processed...like the processed cheeses or meats (yuck) they are really not good for you...aspartame (sugar substitute) is terrible for you. caffeine is not good.
i don't believe ground beef is...
whole milk has a lot of fat but it's not "bad" for you...milk is milk...its the least processed of the milk varieties.
the way i think is that the less processed a food is, the better it is for you.
