Why does it take ice pops so long to freeze in the freezer?!

Question: If you leave them in the box or bag all lumped together, they do take a long time to freeze. If you remove them from the package and spread them out a bit in your freezer so the cold air can circulate around them, they'll freeze pretty fast.

first of all it depends on how cold the setting is on your freezer. and they really dont take that long unless your a severly impatient person and it seems like its taking forever

SUGAR : )

Because you keep on opening the freezer to check on them, letting all the cold air out and letting the warm air in.

i didnt realize they took long?!

Because water has a really really high heat capacity. It will take longer for water to heat/cool than metals.

It depends on the temp of pop before it was frozen. As was stated the water will retain the heat.

A reversal on the old adage, "A watched pot never boils."

Take them out of the bag and put them between other frozen items in the freezer - they will freeze quicker then.
