Health question/salmonella?!

Question: Hi, I am a little concerned. Last night I was eating a frozen Tyson's chicken patty. I heated it up and proceeded to eat. After one bite I noticed that the meat I ate was a little pinkish. The rest of the patty was white meat and fine. Anyhow I totally re-cooked it and it was all fine.

But, now I worry that I might have food poisoning like salmonella. I only ate one piece. It's been 30 hours and I feel fine, like nothing is wrong, very normal. But i know that salmonella can incubate for up to 48 hours and then start.

Does the meat already have to be contaminated? I know i might be at risk but what do you think?

Do you think I'll be okay?

thanks,

Alex

You would have been throwing up within 12-18 hours, or sitting on the toilet more regularly and it would not be very firm.
Relax, don't worry.
I have had that more than once in my life.

you're fine.

I think you'll be okay.

There's no real way to tell. MAybe, a little bit of bad meat can make you sick. However, a small piece of pink chicken doesn't sound to serious. I got salmonella from a school hamburger, of course, and it was no fun. You're stomach feels like its exploding and you feel like you have to throw up all the time except you can't so it builds up and you feel like you can't breath. Trust me you'll know if you get it. And if you do I suggest avil. It's not great in this case but it helps a little. Good luck.

The chances of getting salmonella food poisoning is slim. The meat has to be brought up the right temp. so the color isn't a good indicator of the bacteria being killed.

No, you should be fine. Those things usually dont happen like that, I think. Anyways, I think Salmonella only occurs on natural foods. Like for example, uncooked eggplant and uncooked eggs. I hope this helps!!! You should be fine. : )

u'll be okay

YES ur okay as its been a long time since u took that bite. Just be xtra careful in the future. Even touching a knife that has cut raw chicken is bad as u may not know u did it and lick ur fingers etc. If u cook a lot of chicken peices always wash ur hands inbetween putting raw ones in and taking cooked pieces out.

I think you may be a hypochondriac

I had to spell that one

I mean spell check

ahahaaaaaa

spell checking is hilarious

heheee

my mom used to make me bleach my hands after I played with my turtle

so go bleach your tummy

now.

AHAHAHAAAA

...tummy...
