Why do people say: "your Goose is cooked?"?!

Question: When in actuality most people cook chicken rather than goose.

Answers: When in actuality most people cook chicken rather than goose.

"your goose is cooked" doesn't mean that the goose is actually cooked. I thought it meant like you're caught doing something bad or something. Idk how to word it.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

in old day goose was the chicken of the day.. colonel sanders grandad started ujp as 'kentucky fried goose' his cousin started up 'kentucky fried turkey' but the drunks and chavs could not prounounce it after beer so it never caught on.

Saying Goose means your time is up
