Is Cuisine Still Italian Even if the Chef Isn’t?!

Question: Is Cuisine Still Italian Even if the Chef Isn’t!?
Last month, a prestigious reviewer of restaurants and wine, sought out Rome’s best spaghetti carbonara and found it!. It was made by a Tunisian (Chef Nabil Haj-Hassan) who's famous throughout Italy(among Italians and foreigners) for his Italian dishes!. The runner up, was actually an Indian!. Some argue that even if the dish tastes the same or even better, it's not Italian unless the cook is Italian!.

What do you think!?

Answers:
Whether a dish is of a certain ethnicity or not does not depend upon the ethnicity of the person cooking it only the ethnic origins of the dish!. Julia Child was an American, yet she introduced, and demystified, French style cooking and dishes to the American public via Public Television - she studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and learned all about French cooking there while her husband worked in France!.

I cook Italian, Mexican and French cuisine all the time and I am neither Italian, Mexican or French but the dishes are!.

It depends on the recipe, not the one who cooks it!. Yes!. It's still Italian as long as the dish (recipe) is Italian!.

Those who think only Italian decent can cook Italian foods, French decent can cook French foods, etc are totally cracked!!!

Food is classified by ingredients and methods of prep!! Not the lineage decent of the chef or if he/she might even be a chef!!

I make mean Mexican foods and am northern European by lineage decent!!! Does that mean my food is not Mexican!?!? No!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, because the food itself is still Italian!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Don't be stupid! It's the STYLE of cooking that they are talking about! Do you cook curry!? Is that not Indian food!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

italian cuisien is exactly that!.!.!.its influence is from the ingredients that are used not from the person cooking it!. i guess it could be argued that to get a real authentic taste you would need to sorce the ingredients from italy as they would of course be grown under the right conditions to produce the right flavour!.!.!.however many chefs will source authentic ingredients and i have no idea in this case!.
i love thai food!.!.!.i am not thai but i was taught by someone who was!.!.!.i also cooked for a woman who had lived in thailand for 27 years and she said that my thai was as good as her girl used to make!. there has never been a better compliment for my cooking!.!.!.and i certainly dont think this detracts from the fact it was taught to me by a thai person as i am sure the indian chef learnt from italians!.!.!.whether in person or by book!.
in great britian now indian food is seen as a great british national dish!.!.!.i think this is a sign on the foods of the world coming together and can only be seen as a good thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Personally, I don't think it matters who has cooked it!. The type of cuisine it is depends on the ingredients, how they have been prepared, and what the final meal is!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm italian (i live in italy) and I disagree with this paragraph!.!.!.!.i think my "mamma" 's carbonara is the best!. Do u want to taste it!?

I know that the best thing is a tasty italian dish!. But it sounds strange if it is cooked by a stranger!. I guess he doesn't "feel"(is it correct using this verb!?) the dish which he's cooking!. You need to know the ingredients as you know your parents and your nation!.!.!.to cook a good dish

Excuse me I don't know if my answer was correct (grammatically)!.!.!.anyway i think the meaning is quite clear
