Question: How much salt is there in a smoked mackerel fillet!?
Answers:
I am a former chef and have used them and even made an attempt at my own, like smoked salmon they are cured in a solution of salt and sugar, some seasonings before they are smoked, as for amount I would say a moderate amount!.

I have used them in potted fish appetizers, as a substitute for finnan haddie in a Kedgeree dish, in a mash of them cream cheese and other ingredients for spreads, even nice broken up and served with bread and butter, a spritz of lemon, a horseradish based dressing or cream in an appetizer plateWww@FoodAQ@Com
