They need to eat what you prepare or not eat!. They refuse because they know they can manipulate you into giving them something else!. When they realize that you won't give it to them they will eat!. Children will not let themselves starve!. If they get hungry enough they'll eat!. Stubborn they can be for what seems like an eternity and when coupled with tears is like torture to a mom but break this habit now or you'll be stuck catering to it for years to come!.
It took me the first 3 years to learn this!.
I stuck it out!. Now they eat sugary things but I don't care because they also eat things most kids won't !.!.!.spinich, eggplant, peas, carrots, brussel sprouts etc!.!.!.
They love fish , chicken, beef, whole grains and all fruits!.
My sisternlaw had the same experience with her children and they now eat everything too!. Makes things so much easier!.
You can give them a choice of 2 foods and let them pick but don't go beyond what you have already prepared!. Sounds harsh but it works!. The only one that doesn't eat everything is my son who has numerous food allergies!. Hang tuff mom !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you quit buying the junk food for him he will eventually be hungry and eat what you serve!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
dont offer him fish and chips and nuggets!.
it may seem horrible not letting him eat them but when he is hungry he will eat something else!.
always have fun looking foods on offer- bright foods or foods in the shapes of animals and faces!.
also, have stuff like vegetable sticks and dips or fruit cubes and frozen fruit available in case he wants anything sweet as a snack
the most important thing is to not let him have fish/ chips/ nuggets, he obviously knows that if he refuses everything else he will get themn and this must stop

I'd quit buying the junk food, also do what your mom & dad did(hopefully)!.!.!.make him some healthy food, and make him sit there and eat it!.!.!.and he doesn't get up until it is done (don't overdo the portion size)
S/o's family has the same problem with their youngin's!.!.!.nuggets, and crap!. No kidding at Easter dinner, one wouldn't eat anything but a roll!.!.!.wouldn't TRY anything!. I promise he won't go hungry!. If there are none available then he will only go without for so long!. I have a similar problem with my 2 year old!. It's very common and they grow out of it but must be offered lots of choices and see other family members eating and enjoying other kinds of foods!. They like chips and nuggets alot because they're easy to pick up and eat themselves!. No forks needed!. Research some healthier versions of these (baked sweet potato fries, for instance)!. and see how he takes to them!. I got tired of spending hours cooking four of five different things for a cranky toddler before she finally at SOMETHING!. I have to keep other famiy members from letting her snack so she's good and hungry at meal time, and it turns out okay!. He will grow out of it!. Promise!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
What you have is the beginning of a very picky eater who willl later in life become unhealthy because of it!. The child will eat when hungry - it is you who will make the choice for him as to what is offered !. Every time you give in it will only encourage him to hold out longer the next time !. It's sort of a game for children to see if they can get what THEY want !. If you only make available the types of food YOU want the child to eat there is no other choice !. And it WILL be ate in the end , you will have done something very good for your child !. Good luck we know it's not easy at first !.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I was like this when I was younger- you have a very picky eater on your hands!
It was just a phase for me (I ate ONLY chicken and mashed potatoes and corn!. Nothing else at age 5 or so!.)
My parents tried everything, and I still wouldn't eat!. It might just be something he has to grow out of!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're the mom!. You decide what the kids eat!. Right!?
Your child will not starve, when he's hungry he will eat what you offer him!.
If you don't want him eating chips and nugget, DON'T GIVE THEM TO HIM!.
It will be hard at first, and he'll probably go to bed hungry more than once, but eventually he will eat!. You make the meal for the family, and either he eats it or he doesn't!. End of story!. No getting him something else, no making different food for each person!.
Just hang in there, if you want to fix the problem, it's up to you to stick by your guns and fix it!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

His taste buds can be reprogrammed, just don't put any of those items in the cupboards/fridge!.
When the kids want snacks, since they were small, I don't put out a plate of watermelon and a plate of chips, I put out a variety of only healthy snacks for them to choose from!. Or when we go to the store, they each get to pick out a fruit and a veg for their snack!. That way it's their choice!. I also get them involved in cutting up (I know your 1 year old is too young for that)!.
Obviously though if it's out of mind, out of sight, and you offer other healthy choices, they'll pick those!. It may be hard at first, but if there are no chips in the house, they won't be an option!. Quite simple!. One of my nieces never ate mashed foods and she refused to have anyone feed her, but you put a bowl of strawberries and other fruit in front of her and she would inhale it on her own, or want to peel her own mandarin oranges for instance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

He is 1 and you are the boss so he has the choice to eat what you make or go hungry!. Keep all the junk food out of the house so it doesn't tempt him (or your other child)!. Eventually they will get used to eating better stuff but it will probably be a bit of a struggle at the beginning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Hi!. Try this new site, still in progress it appears, that I found today!. Looks like some stuff that even kids will eat!. Actually that Lasagne is making me hungry! Lol!.
