Chilli on your tongue!?!

Question: Chilli on your tongue!!?
I know where the sweet, salty, savoury, and bitter taste receptors are on my tongue but where is the spice/heat/chilli receptors!? Or are they just all over your tongue!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You do not have any spice/chilli/hot receptors!. What makes something feel spicy is the fact that your tongue is beginning to get numb!. Its a sensation not a taste!. The "spiciness" just numbs your tongue!. You can not taste it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The oils from the hot food you are eating messes with the pores in your mouth causing a burning sensation!.

So yes, your whole mouth is where it'll burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no its quite warm actually!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

all over the place!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
