~*~Air is always in your mouth and in the back of your throat!. When you drink water, especially quickly or through a straw, the air gets trapped under the liquid and then swallowed down!. Try slowing down when you are drinking to allow the air pocket to get to the top of the liquid before swallowing and don't use a straw!. Hope this helps!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sometimes it is a physical thing - everyone swallows a little air!. Other times it can become a nervous habit which needs to be treated by a speech therapist - they not only teach you to speak but how to control breathing etc!.

I know what you mean though!. It is horrible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

because your swallow has to take up all the space in your throat, and since no one takes sips that big, it uses air to fill up the spaceWww@FoodAQ@Com
